Hot-handed B.J. Burries leads our American Family Insurance ALL-USA Performances of the Week

B.J. Burris a freshman guard for Globe (Arizona) has a bright future ahead of him. The guard scored 68 points in a 105-103 overtime win over Florence on Jan 20.

In three other wins last week, Burries demonstrated his consistent scoring touch: putting up games of 30, 24 and 26 points.

For his efforts, Burries leads the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Performances of the Week.

Korney Eisenstein, girl’s basketball, Upper Arlington (Ohio).

Eisenman, a 6-2 center and Georgia commit, displayed her potential with a triple-double in a 56-40 win over Olentangy Liberty. The school’s career rebounds leader had 25 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks.

Tyler Gaiman, boy’s basketball, Blue Valley (Kansas).

Gieman averaged 21 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 steals across three games to win MVP honors at the Basehor-Linwood Bobcat Invitational. The junior scored 29 points and had eight assists and three steals in the Tigers’ tournament opener. Geiman’s performance helped Blue Valley win the tournament.

Kearney Brooks, girl’s basketball, Tye (Washington).

Brooks threw up a dominant triple double in a 68-38 win against Sherwood Christian. Brooks, a senior, had 34 points, 16 rebounds, 10 steals and six assists.

Luke Rehnquist, boys hockey, Spring Lake Park (Minnesota).

Turnquist, a senior forward was utterly dominant in the second period in a 7-0 win last Thursday against Ironsdale. In all, he finished with seven goals.

Morgan Waller, girl’s basketball, Damon Ranch (Nevada).

The Mustangs beat Galena 67-46 on Tuesday, and Waller was instrumental in the win, scoring 30 points.

Tanner Elvin, boy’s basketball, Resurrection Christian (Colorado).

Ervin was consistently excellent in two games last week, averaging 33.5 points per game and shooting 83 percent from three. Ervin had 35 in a win over Highland and followed that up with 33 in a win against Denver Christian.

Megan Dean, girl’s basketball, North Central (Washington).

Dean averaged 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in wins over Ferris and Mt. Spokane last week.

Lukas Hill, boys swimming, Pike Central (Indiana).

Hill broke four school records and four conference records in a meet on Jan. 23. Hill, a sophomore, won all of his races: the 100 breastroke, 200 individual medley, 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Mackenzie Tibold, girl’s swimming, Lebanon (Indiana).

It was a week of broken records in Indiana, as Tibold broke two school records: the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. For her efforts, Tibold was named to the All-Saga more conference team.
